Winds in the Wilderness Concert

February 2 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

“Together in the Wilderness”

Along with the rich and soulful sonorities of viola and English horn the flute is featured in the first piece of “Together in the Wilderness,” a set of compositions written for and about the players of Winds in the Wilderness Concerts by John Myers that will debut on February 2nd and continue throughout our 2020 season, with each piece featuring a different player.
Our Baroque offerings are a quartet by Joachim Quantz and Cello Suite No. 1 by J.S. Bach played on viola. This exciting program continues with ‘Javanaise’ from Claude Bolling’s ‘Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio’; ‘Terzetto’ bu Gustav Holtz and music by Edward MacDowell and Enrique Granados.

Our educational and diverse programs are appropriate for all ages and are about 1:15 long. There is a recommended donation of $15 at the door; children, students and underserved free. A reception with the performers will take place after the concert.
