We are blessed to have a gallery of this caliber in Lakeville. The artists that owner/curator Judith Singelis presents are forerunners in their field and worthy of collecting. I never thought of myself as a collector, but visiting Judith’s gallery over the years has made me want to invest in some special pieces of art for my home. They are treasured and loved. These elements are so important in home design because they bring love and warmth to a space.
Some people think art is “too expensive”– it’s an unnecessary luxury. But I ask them to think about how much money they waste so many trivial things…things that don’t last or go out of fashion. Art is something that lasts.
SO HERE’S MY ADVICE – You don’t need much, but what you do need are important purchases that will be part of your life. Collect what you love…buy what you love…you will never regret it!
Sense of Place: a characteristic that some geographical places have and some do not. It is ofen used in relation to those qualities that make a place special or unique…as well as those that foster a sense of human attachment and belonging.
The Artists in this anniversary exhibition have captured their own personal “sense of place” be it a landscape, cityscape or the reading of a particular moment or scene in time, sometimes personal and often open to the viewer’s interpretation.
