As we told you last week, we’re giving all three of our stores a refresher. This week, we’re featuring our latest redo in our Rhinebeck store. Below, store manager Rhonda Cayea tells us what went into the why and how of restyling and updating the look and feel of a space.
Teamwork and collaboration play a big part in Hammertown’s longevity, not to mention Joan’s incredible eye. I always look forward to working with Jessica when it’s time to re-fresh the Rhinebeck floor and Katlyn Brenner was a huge help. It’s winter and we all get tired of looking at the same vignettes. Whenever we move things around it sparks new interest.
We had our MG+BW Sloane in Vivid Saffron in the center of our store for awhile and it always sells well for us, but I wanted to bring our other “star”, the Monique Sofa in Cimarron (which everyone loves for her unique style and comfort) to the front of the store.
Joan found some beautiful antique rugs at Market for our floor which inspired Jessica and me to create new vignettes in the Gallery area as well.
The first stage of “flipping” the store is mapping it out on paper the week before with Jessica and looking at the new pieces coming in to our stores. The day we start to move the store around we take all the pillows and throws out to the room to have a clean slate (we call it the pillow pile!)
some things even get moved outside!
Rugs, lighting, tables, sofas and chairs all move to new places to create whole new looks.
The other goal I had was to move our Cornelia Sectional into the center of the store with the Mallory sofa to create a beautiful, comfortable space for our customers to sit and enjoy.
Hammertown Rhinebeck is a gathering place on the weekends and nothing makes us happier than to see our customers each weekend relaxing and enjoying what Hammerton has to offer.
We hope you’ll come in for a look and spend a little time with us! And remember, if you’re impressed with how we restyle and refresh our stores…Hammertown Approachable Design Team can do the same thing for you in your own home. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested.
