New York Gift Show – a sampling (and 2 days of fun in the city)

My daughter, Dana, and I hit the New York Gift Show this week.  Some good finds and then two days in the city for fun and adventure.  A visit to Fishs Eddy,  a trip to MOMA, some theatre and a nice visit with old friends.

Here’s some of what we saw…

“Christina’s World” is by Andrew Wyeth, whose 100th birthday we celebrate this year. Special shows at the Farnsworth in Maine and at the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford.

  • Hi Joan,
I really really enjoy your blog – thanks so much for sharing!
Wanted to let you know the painting featured from your Moma visit, of the girl in a field looking towards a house, is by Andrew Wyeth not Edward Hopper. It’s titled “Christna’s World”. I live very close to the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford PA which is renowned for its collection of the Wyeth family of artist.
Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t already been http://www.brandywine.org
    All the best, Donna
