As promised in our post a couple weeks ago, we’re updating you on what’s happening at The White Hart in Salisbury, CT. We just got this email from the management with all the most current details PLUS a VERY nice mention of Hammertown’s story about them!
RETURN OF THE TAP ROOM
We are very excited to announce that the lights will be back on at 15 Under Mountain Rd. as of this Wednesday, August 27th. On that date, the Tap Room will be open for dinner and beginning on Thursday, August 28th we will be serving lunch as well. Please consider the first week a soft opening—we can pretty much guarantee that there will be kinks to work out—and as a result we will be discounting 20% off of the food. All we ask in return is your feedback. (We have thoroughly tested the tap lines—if you know what we mean—and since we are confident that the beer will come out cold, it and the other drinks will be regular price.)
We will not be accepting reservations in the Tap Room, but we will eventually be taking reservations in the Dining Room (see below) and likely in the Garden Room as well.
ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS FOR ROOMS
We are also open for lodging as of the 27th, and are happy to report that we’re fully booked for Labor Day weekend. We have lots of availability for all other fall weekends, and we hope you’ll consider joining us for an overnight stay. For those of you who are local, we hope you’ll use us as a resource for all those friends and family who you would love to have in Salisbury, but don’t quite love enough to host as overnight guests!
WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE PLACE?
So when will the Dining Room open? We don’t exactly know. We would rather start small and do a better job than to bite off more than we can chew. We’ve got the menu just about written (there will be separate Tap Room and Dining Room menus) and we can’t wait to show off the new, renovated space, so we are working hard to get it open.
We have gotten some great press, of which we are very proud. Two lifestyle blogs have given us wonderful write-ups. Most important is the local one: Joan Osofsky’s reflection on what we have been trying to do at the White Hart, Bringing the “Heart” Back to The White Hart. We also got a lovely shout-out on Gwyneth Paltrow’s blog/newsletter, GOOP, which you can read here.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
We have had fun getting The White Hart up and running again and are thrilled to have the chance to welcome everyone back through the doors and onto our porches. The support we have received has been heartening, and we hope to repay it with a warm environment, authentic and fresh food, as well as a comfortable place to spend a night (or a week!).
See you in the Tap Room!
