We just heard from our Pine Plains friends and neighbors, Mark Strausman and Susan Littlefield of Agriturismo that they’re back and ready to re-open for the Spring/Summer Season this Friday and I, for one, couldn’t be happier. We asked Mark for a recipe to share with our readers this week and you’ll be getting a sneak preview of something on their new Spring/Summer Menu. Leek & Ramp Gratin – click here to get it. Thanks Mark…we’ve missed you!
We’re Back and Ready for Spring!
We took two weeks off for vacation, and now we’re quite refreshed and full of energy for the Spring and Summer seasons. We’ll be open and ready to go beginning Friday, April 20 at 5:30 pm.
Profuse apologies to those of you who called trying to make a reservation for last weekend, April 13-15. Our answering machine didn’t pick up the message we left regarding the fact that we extended our vacation for a week. We’re so sorry for the confusion!
Somehow, over those two weeks, Spring happened! It had already crept onto our menu: even before our break, Mark was already cooking with spring bulb onions, green garlic, nettles, baby artichokes… We’re that much closer to the emergence of local crops of vegetables and fruits! This season of rebirth is our favorite time of year in the country, and we can’t wait!
As always, of course, we serve local meats and poultry, and we have beautiful artisanal cheeses and dairy products from right here in the neighborhood.
We’re pleased and proud that we were featured in the Travel Section of the New York Times. Here’s the link to the wonderful article: http://travel.nytimes.com/2011/11/20/travel/at-agriturismo-mark-strausmans-farm-to-table-approach.html
We look forward to seeing you soon at Agriturismo!
