    How the Other .0001% Lives

    Posted on June 4, 2008 by Auntie M —

The Official Filthy Rich Handbook is our newest favorite guilty pleasure.

    Filthy Rich Handbook

Former NY Post Page Six contributor Christopher Tennant’s “The Official Filthy Rich Handbook (How the Other .0001% Lives)” is one of those books you can’t help but pick up…even if you swear you couldn’t care less about such materialistic fare. But like the People magazine at the hair salon…you cannot resist. P.J. O’Rourke calls it “a paragon of naked wit,” and Tom Wolfe enthuses, “Reading this handbook is like eating 12 baked Alaskas in a row, [Tennant] seems to know la dolce vita Americana billionara, every sweet morsel of it.”

What surprised us here at Hammertown, however, is that one of our best-selling products is smack dab in the middle of the Filthy Rich Handbook! In the chapter entitled, “The Filthy Rich-tion-ary — the A to Zeds of Stylish Living” we found Ikat, framed filthy rich pillow which Tennant describes as “the design world’s current fabric flavor of the month”. This handwoven silk textile is made in Indonesia and was recently the subject of an exhibition in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. “Park Avenue decorators caught on and now the geometrical, jewel-toned patterns are showing up on down-stuffed throw pillows in living rooms across the country.”

And to think, you can get these pillows right now at Hammertown for about $138…down-filled, of course!
