There are so many books in our store that I love!

Cookbooks…design books…kids’ books…lifestyle books…even some current New York Times best-sellers (like “House of Cards” by local author, William Cohan).

I couldn’t live without my Alice Waters & Mark Bittman cookbooks; I always enjoy my old favorite design books like “An Affair With A House”. I get newly inspired by recent releases like “Tiny Houses” and “The New Traditional”.

And, of course, I’m always on the lookout for new kids’ books that I think will capture the imagination of my grand daughters (and your sons & grandsons).

It’s been a couple weeks since we last posted and a lot of work has been done on the house.

I will start where we left off with going through the house. This time has been spent mostly working on the home’s systems. We like to think of this period as boring but essential.

It’s that time of year again — our annual trip to High Point, NC.

Rhonda and I were “on the road again” to find wonderful things for our store and your home. We left last Friday and returned Tuesday. It’s always exhausting but worth it because we find great merchandise for Hammertown. Next week I will have a sneak peak of some of our High Point finds so make sure you check our website then!
