There’s something new in Millerton…Hammertown & Parlour (the fabulous clothing boutique that was next to the Harney Tea Room) have partnered to creat a new shop - 7 Dutchess.
7 Dutchess is Hammertown & Parlour, Dressing Life Together. From fabulous clothing, Frye boots and shoes, jewelry and scarves…to vintage Suzani pillows, zinc and iron tables from Stissing Desing her in Pine Plains.
Come over to Millerton and experience Hammertown at 7 Dutchess. There’s lighting, sofas, chairs and rugs, all inspired by the forward fashion of Mimi Harney. Also, you’ll find our exclusive collection of Fishs Eddy Dishes.
Right now we’re having a summer clothing and shoe sale, so its a great time to stop in and get to know 7 Dutchess.

Time & Space Limited is a local organization bringing live arts, film and other media to the Hudson Valley for years. They are at the forefront of social change and a vital regional cultural institution. If you’re not familiar with TSL, it’s a local gem and you should check out their website to learn more about them and upcoming events.
This weekend, Paul Spencer and Mary Shimkin, of Ancramdale, are hosting a fundraiser for TSL. Their house and circa 1799 Dutch barn are situation in one of the most beautiful places in Columbia County. Jesse Lege’ will be playing Cajun music and there will be good eats on the grill by Chef Danyell. Click here for directions.
We will have a cash bar and raffle of a fabulous TV. And a great committee of people to help make it a great event.
This is a family event, so there will be things for the kids to do (this is a real farm with chickens and horses and a real garden).

Shops open until 7:00 PM
Little Gates Wine Merchants, Harney Tea Company, Gilmor Glass and 7 Dutchess are hosting the evening shopping event. Participating stores will be open until seven and serving wine and hors deurves.

Lizzie West and Baba Buffalo are returning to the area this weekend for a show at Club Helsinki. They’ll be playing their Tumbleweed Cabaret and music old and new. We’re so excited to have them back in town for the third year in a row. Special guests, The “President” and Mama Hillybean.
The other evening at La Cienega, I met Dan Shaw. I was pleased to be introduced to Dan, as I have been following his and Marilyn Bethany’s on-line paper, Rural Intelligence, for a few months. Read more…
